There are too many people trying to hold each other back in this world. I want to use my own website to help spread the love and share with you my most awesomely talented friends!
I've known Jamie for years, since he was born in fact but we grew apart as we grew up. To later find out he grew into a metal singer who is cooler than I'll ever be! I'm not jealous at all. Promise.
Have you always been able to sing?
I started singing when I was very young, I first knew I wanted to be a vocalist when I went to a karaoke bar with my parents in Ibiza. I think I was 9 years old haha. I sang Will Youngs evergreen and the audience went crazy for me, some even stood up!
How did you discover you can sing for death metal style music?
I'd been singing ever since I could but I realised metal was for me when I was around 15/16 when I started opening my mind musically and looked away from the charts for inspiration.
Are you in a band now?
I'm not currently in a band, but when I was 17/18 I joined a group called 'Beneath The Exterior' we gigged all over the country and it was so much fun. So many strangers were vibing with us and it gave me the best feeling I've ever felt. That's why I'm still chasing the dream. Me and the old band mates are currently in talks of a reunion (almost 10 years on).
If you have, what was the best gig you can remember and why?
The best gig I've ever played has to be when me and the lads opened for three of my favourite bands at the time (The Argentina Dawn, Trigger the Bloodshed and Annotations of an Autopsy)
Whats the best thing about being a singer in a band?
The best thing about being a metal vocalist has to be the fans, the feeling they give when they feel excited about something me and my friends have created, it's the only time in my life I've felt real acceptance.
Whats the worst thing about being a singer in a band?
Worst thing has to be needing a second job to pay for recordings. It's so enfuriating when you have an idea but don't have the means to get your creativity down on something physical.
Do you have any funny stories or memories you have whilst singing?
The funniest moment I can remember from when the band was going has to be when we had to wake up at 5am to get to Swindon so we could use a recording studio (Studio 6). The previous night we bought a bottle of Jager each, then we saved it and started drinking at 6 am, we got so bladdered that I believe I took my clothes off in the van and started moshing. Our driver (a stranger) look the most confusing look on his face haha so much fun!
